Donald J. Gee was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Lunenburg County, Virginia. He graduated from Central Senior High School in Victoria, Virginia in 1978. He obtained a B.A. degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1982. In 1985, he received a law degree from Howard University School of Law.
Donald began his practice as an associate with the law firm of Ronald R. Wesley & Associates in 1986. The next year the firm's name was changed to Wesley & Gee, P.C. As a named partner in the firm, Donald's areas of concentration were personal injury, residential and commercial real estate, including bond transactions, condemnation proceedings, criminal law, traffic and corporate matters.
In 1990, Donald left Wesley & Gee, P.C. and joined with Earl Gee and A. Donald McEachin to establish McEachin & Gee, P.C. The Firm initially began as a litigation firm, representing personal injury plaintiffs and providing legal services to insurance companies, assisting creditors under the Fair Debt Collection Act, handling real estate transactions and corporate litigation, including counsel for the Resolution Trust Corporation. By late 1992 the firm decided to focus primarily on personal injury cases. During most of the 11 years at McEachin & Gee, Donald's areas of concentration were personal injury, traffic and general litigation. As the dominant attorney during its first years of operation, Donald led the law firm toward stability by pushing the firm in the direction of becoming primarily a personal injury law firm. His early incite and leadership contributed immensely to the stability and ultimately to the outstanding performance of McEachin & Gee, P.C.
Donald was part of the trial team that recorded some of the largest verdicts and settlements in the State of Virginia.
At the end of 2000, McEachin & Gee, P.C. was dissolved and on January 1, 2001, The Gee Law Firm, P.C. was established. Donald is the President and a Director of The Gee Law Firm.
Donald is an accomplished trial attorney with his main focus within the law firm being personal injury, traffic and collection of large debts. He is an excellent litigator and is recognized as a member of the Million Dollar Advocacy Forum.
Donald is the Treasurer of the Old Dominion Bar Association, State Chapter and a past President of the Old Dominion Bar Association, Richmond Chapter. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar Association, City of Richmond Bar Association, Chesterfield County Bar Association, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Donald is a member of the Virginia State Bar Standing Committee on Advertising and Solicitation and a member of the Virginia State Bar Committee on Lawyer Discipline.
